Lidar Windshear Alert System

Siyuans has developed the system that integrates lidar, meteorology, and air traffic control to overcome traditional detection limitations. It offers long-range, high-precision, all-weather monitoring of wind fields around airports and calculates low-altitude wind shear, providing real-time alertings for aircraft takeoffs and landings.

Wind Measurement Principle

Doppler laser wind LiDAR is a non-contact remote sensing LiDAR system based on the Doppler velocity measurement principle. The laser is emitted into the air to be measured through the radar's optical antenna and scanning mechanism. After being scattered backward by aerosol particles, it produces a Doppler frequency shift, which is proportional to the velocity of the aerosol particles (i.e., wind speed). These backscattered signals, after being collected by the optical antenna, are coherently detected and digitally demodulated with the system's local oscillator light, allowing for the processing and obtaining of wind speed and direction information in the area to be measured.
